SUPERVISION is a hybrid visual novel/survival horror/RPG about being watched.

Made for NOISE JAM 3 in about 3 and 1/2 weeks by myself and sierraphantom.

This game can be finished in about an hour, depending on your reading speed and skill with RPGs. Although short, it may be rather difficult.

Once you start encountering enemies, I recommend making multiple save files, so that you can resume from an old save if you run out of healing items and find yourself stuck.

Keyboard Controls:

• Arrow keys to move.
• Hold Shift to run.
• Spacebar, Enter, or Z to advance text, confirm menu selections, and interact with objects. Holding any of these buttons will also fast-forward text and cutscenes.
• X opens and closes the main menu, and cancels out of menu selections.
• Q and W cycle between characters when on the skill/equipment/status menus.
• F4 toggles fullscreen.
• Page Down can be used to speed through text extra-fast. (This may cause graphical hiccups in some scenes.)

Mouse Controls:

• Left click where you want to go, and left click on objects to interact.
• Left click also advances text and confirms menu selections.
• Right click opens and closes the main menu, and cancels out of menu selections.

Content Warnings:

This game contains strong language and themes of surveillance, unreality, transphobia, gender dysphoria, and mild body horror.

The game also contains noisy and oversaturated graphics which may cause eye strain. Similarly, the music in the game is distorted and overdriven. You can adjust the volume in the options menu.

Developer's Postmortem:

This was a very ambitious game for the time constraints, so I ran right up against the jam deadline and may not have found all the bugs. (I have no way to test the Mac version, and did not have time to test the Linux version.)

I may come back and update this game later, possibly with more/better music or some graphical improvements, but the story is complete, although the ending was a little rushed. Fixing any crashes or other major bugs is the #1 priority.

It is possible the game may crash due to certain resources not loading; this is most likely due to RPG Maker MV's "Delete Unused Files" export option not working correctly. I think I have fixed all instances of this issue, but I may have missed some. Please let me know if you encounter this bug.
